Dangote Acquires Gas Processing Firm in The Netherlands

The management of Dangote Industries Limited on Sunday announced that it had completed the acquisition of Twister BV, a company in the Netherlands, as part of its strategy to meet Nigeria’s gas needs.

According to a statement by Dangote, Twister BV provides robust solutions in natural gas processing and separation to the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors.

It said Twister’s separation capabilities were designed to augment production and streamline processes to capitalise on high-yield gas processing for maximising revenues.

Twister BV used to be owned by Shell Technology Ventures Fund 1 before its recent acquisition by DIL and its partner, First E&P, the statement said.

The President, Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, was quoted as saying, “This was an important acquisition for us. Twister’s cutting-edge gas processing technology is fundamental to delivering our strategy to u nlock about three billion cubic feet per day of gas in order to meet Nigeria’s gas needs.”

The Chief Executive Officer, Twister, John Young, said, “We are delighted by the confidence that the DIL and First E&P have shown in Twister to be their core provider of gas separation solutions.

“After very thorough due diligence, our technology has been recognised as a key enabler to reduce gas project costs, which is crucial in the current environment; we are excited to be part of the Dangote family of companies.”

According to the statement, based on sophisticated patented technology, Twister gas plants are typically cheaper to build and operate, compared to alternative technologies, and deliver better performance levels. The company has customers in Nigeria, Malaysia and South America.

It said, “The acquisition complements DIL’s portfolio of investments in the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the oil and gas sector. The company will help design and build the gas plants, which will be critical in processing gas from oil fields for transportation via Dangote’s planned sub-sea pipeline for ultimate consumption by various industries and power plants.”

26-Year-Old Nigerian, Caleb Femi Appointed As London’s First Young People’s Laureate

A 26-year-old Nigerian poet and English teacher, Caleb Femi, has been named as London’s first Young People’s Laureate.

Femi was given the prestigious role by a panel of arts bodies and individual judges, including The Roundhouse, the Poetry Society and Jacob Sam-La Rose.

The poet, teacher and photographer has been given the responsibility to raise the awareness of poetry in the capital, nationally and internationally.

Spread the Word’s young laureate initiative funded by the Foundation for Future London, follows the young poet laureate for London scheme, a position held in the past by Warsan Shire, the Somali-British poet who hit the headlines for her role in Beyonce’s visual album ‘Lemonade’ and also Aisling Fahey and Selina Nwulu

The laureate will also support the development of aspiring poets and youths, through development initiatives such as Poetry Lab and raising issues that affect them in his prose.

The Nigerian teacher arrived in London at the age of seven and grew up on the North Peckham Estate, where Damilola Taylor lived before his murder in 2000 at the age of 10.

Femi, who started writing what he refers to as “grime” at the age of 16, has advice for aspiring poets.

“It’s important to read as much diverse poetry collections as possible – Indian, Caribbean and African. That will provide ideas as to where developing poets can fit in and how they can introduce something new.”

Donald Trump: Polling places are rigged

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has dug even deeper in his efforts to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the US election, saying on Twitter on Sunday that he believed the results were being "rigged" at many polling places.

His tweet came hours after his vice presidential running mate, Mike Pence, said Republicans would accept the outcome of the November 8 contest between Trump and his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.

"The election is absolutely being rigged by the dishonest and distorted media pushing Crooked Hillary - but also at many polling places - SAD," Trump wrote on Twitter, in the latest of a series of comments he has made over the past several days calling into question the fairness of the election.

Trump, who is trailing Clinton in opinion polls, did not provide any evidence to back his allegations of impropriety at the voting booth. Early voting and voting by mail have begun in many states.

In another tweet later on Sunday, Trump blamed "animals representing Hillary Clinton" and Democrats in North Carolina for an overnight attack on a local Republican Party headquarters in that state.

Local authorities said the building in Hillsborough, North Carolina, had been struck through a front window with flammable material and an adjacent building wall was spray-painted with a swastika and the words "Nazi Republicans leave town or else."

"Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning," Trump tweeted.
Clinton denounced the attack as "horrific and unacceptable" in her own tweet, adding: "Very grateful that everyone is safe.

Trump, a New York businessman, who has never held elective office, has often said the electoral process is skewed against him, including during the Republican nominating contests, when he disputed the method for winning delegates to the Republican National Convention.

His latest complaint of media bias stems from allegations by women that he groped them or made other unwanted sexual advances, after a 2005 video became public in which Trump was recorded bragging about such behaviour.

He apologised for the video but has denied each of the accusations.

Three men arrested over Trinity Gay shooting

Three men have been charged in connection with a shootout police say left the 15-year-old daughter of Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay dead.

Trinity Gay died at a Lexington, Kentucky, hospital on Sunday after she was shot in the neck about 4 am during an exchange of gunfire between people in two parked vehicles in the car park of a nearby Cook Out restaurant.

Dvonta Middlebrooks fired multiple shots during the incident, investigators said on Sunday.

He was charged with wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A father and son were also charged on Sunday. Chazerae Taylor, 38, and 19-year-old son D'Markeo both face wanton endangerment counts.

Police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said officers don't believe Trinity Gay was in either of the vehicles involved.

Tyson Gay said he and his daughter were very close, according to Lexington TV station WLEX.

"It's so crazy. I have no idea what happened," Gay told the station.
Grief counsellors will be at Lexington's Lafayette High School on Monday for students and staff, Fayette County Public Schools spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall said. Both Gay and his daughter attended the school.

Trinity Gay was a stand-out sprinter, placing in the top five in several events at the state championships in May. Her father still holds the state record in the 100 set in 2001.

Tyson Gay competed in the last three Summer Olympics. He was part of a team that won a silver medal in the 4x100-meter relay at the 2012 London Games though that medal was ultimately stripped after Gay tested positive for steroids in 2013.

Last summer's Games in Rio featured another stinging disappointment for Gay, 33, who has battled injuries. He was a member of the American men's 4x100-meter relay team that finished third in the final before being disqualified for an illegal baton exchange between Mike Rodgers and Justin Gatlin.

The sports world has been mourning the news of the death on social media.

USA Track and Field tweeted, "Sending our thoughts & prayers to (at)TysonLGay & his loved ones as they mourn the tragic & senseless loss of his daughter, Trinity." Several of Gay's USA track teammates echoed the comment, including Natasha Hastings and Arman Hall.

Former NFL wide receiver Santonio Holmes, NBA veteran Vince Carter and tennis great Martina Navratilova have also tweeted messages of support.

Difference Between Quick Format And Full Format

The bookshelf and file system analogy

Before going into the details of this answer, one should know the basics of how a file system is built. You can treat it like a bookshelf where books represent files and a catalogue is maintained to keep a record . Let’s consider a scenario where a book will be no longer present (a file is deleted from the disk) or some books are added that aren’t listed in the catalogue. In such case, there will be an error in the system, i.e. irregularities in the catalogue.

Deleting files from a disk

When you simply delete a file from your computer, it’s just like clearing out the catalogue but leaving behind the books in their shelves. Following that, when one adds a new book to the shelf, older books are replaced by new ones. Same happens with files.

Formatting a disk

You might have come across formatting option a number of times. Whether you’re installing Windows operating system or getting rid of some nasty virus, formatting comes handy in many situations. While some people like the whole process and consider it a way to start everything new, others consider it horrible.

When formatting a disk on a Windows PC, you might have come across the option of Quick Format and Full Format. So, what choice do you make? And how to make that choice? Apart from the speed, quick and fast, what’s the real difference between the two?

Before detailing the technical differences, again, I would like to mention the bookshelf and file system analogy. Formatting can be considered similar to destroying the bookshelf and catalogue. However, if you choose the quick format option, the books are still present in the debris and one can regain them. On the other hand, full format removes the books completely. Now, let’s go in the technical details.

What happens during full format?

If you choose to go ahead with the full format option, the files are removed completely from a particular volume. Also, the hard disk is scanned for bad sectors. If found, the full format option also tries to fix the bad sector. If the fix is successful, the hard drive is made healthy again and you can again write data on it. This also creates a new filesystem table on the hard drive.

A bad sector is a disk sector that’s unwritable or inaccessible due to permanent damage. This might be due to failed flash memory transistors or damage to the disk surface.

Since the launch of Windows Vista, Microsoft has started writing zeros to all data sectors. That’s why full format takes much more time than the quick format.

What about quick format?

Instead of deleting all the data (and replacing it with zeroes), a quick format only deletes the file system journaling (the bookshelf catalogue). A quick format simply destroys the journal that is used to keep a track of the file and its location on the hard drive. It doesn’t scan the disk for bad sectors and skips rebuilding the file system. After that, as you write new data, the older data gets overwritten.

Full format vs Quick format

As said above, a quick format doesn’t destroy your data. The data is still on the disk and using many file recovery software, one can undelete the files. A full format also scrubs the hard drive from scratch and rebuilds all the file structures. So, if you are selling a device or giving it away, full format is the only option you need to choose. A full format will also help you increase the disk performance, speed, and stability.

However, if your hard drive is already clean and it doesn’t have bad sectors, a quick format is suitable. If you aren’t sure about these points, perform a full format.

Klopp: Mourinho criticism are bulls***

Jurgen Klopp has described suggestions that Manchester United have had a poor start to the season as “bulls***” as he prepares to face the Red Devils at Anfield on Monday.

Jose Mourinho’s side come into the game down in seventh place in the table, three points behind Liverpool, having been held by Stoke last time out.

But Klopp has defended Mourinho’s recent record at the club insisting criticism of the Portuguese is completely unjustified.

“It’s bulls***. No, but rubbish. Who says this? He has started badly at United?” he told reporters.

They won their first [three] games. So now you are giving B grades for winning? I try to play similar football to now with my former team and when we faced Real Madrid it was unbelievably difficult to play them.

He [Mourinho] knows how successful football works. To like or not like the way he plays, why should he care? Why should he care?

How can I say who is on the way here and who is on the way there?  If I lose against Manchester United you will stand here and ask me: ‘So..what about your ways..?’ I am of course not interested and absolutely not part of the group that says Jose Mourinho was or has been a good manager.

He is a competitor. Without knowing him well, I know he will want to win this game.”

They are Man United and they have the quality and offensive players who are strong and quick and technically good. They have everything you need to play football.

“ In the end a game can change when one team goes in to the lead or something, so we don’t know exactly what they will do but I am sure they won’t come here to defend only.”

Henderson wants revenge on Mourinho

The midfielder says he will never forget his side's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea two years ago that contributed to the Reds eventually finishing the season in second place

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson wants some revenge over Jose Mourinho for hurting his team's title chances while at Chelsea in 2013-14.

Mourinho's team went to Anfield and recorded a 2-0 win in a game best remembered for Steven Gerrard's slip.

But the Portuguese tactician's outfit slowed the game down on their way to victory, with Liverpool eventually finishing two points adrift of champions Manchester City.

Ahead of facing Mourinho's Manchester United on Monday, Henderson – suspended for that game in 2014 – still remembers the encounter.

"I will never forget the Chelsea game at Anfield when we lost and we were going for the title," he told reporters.

"It was difficult to watch. We were on fire really and the way they played the game, very slow, sat in, it was very clever from Jose.

"Throw-ins, goal-kicks, they were taking forever and that got everyone worked up in the stadium.

"It worked to their advantage in the end because they got the result they came for and the one that had a big impact on the title race so I will never really forget that."

Henderson praised Mourinho for his tactical nous, with United sitting seventh and Liverpool fourth ahead of the clash at Anfield.

"It was tactically, very good from Jose," he said.

"He is a great tactician, he is a world-class manager and he has shown that in the clubs he has been at."

Emir Sanusi Tells Muslim Faithfuls: ‘Let’s Fix A General Age For Marriage’

The Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II hasonce again called on Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria to for the pegging of marriage age.

The Emir in a write up on his instagram page title ‘Marriage of women below 18 years’ on Saturday enjoined the Nigerian Muslim community to call for pegging the pegging of marriage age.

He said the, “time had come when the Muslim community in Nigeria should live by the reality of economic recession and consequences of early marriage.

“The marriage age in Egypt at present was 18 while that of Malaysia and Morocco were 19 and 17 respectively, asking

“Why not we here urgently call for pegging of marriage ages within Muslim Ummah in Nigeria?”

Below is the full text (Marriage of women below 18 years) –

“Women are suffering from reproductive health challenges were products of such marriages. Time had come when the Muslim community should live by the reality of economic recession and consequences of early marriage.

“The era when people gave out their daughters in marriage at early ages and asked the husbands to wait till they were ripe was nothing but a deception.

“According to me, strategy no longer worked as it had led to cases of divorce and other ugly situations. In the past the rich and the poor married four wives and bore between 30 and 40 children because the economy was not only buoyant but also because people were not relying on government for sustenance.

“Though the harsh economic realities now make it impossible for people to feed twice a day these days,

“Unfortunately our people do not change and somebody with virtually nothing still give birth to 20 or 30 children and this must stop.”

“There was a need to peg the marriage age now because of the challenges early marriage was posing.

“The marriage age in Egypt at present was 18 while that of Malaysia and Morocco were 19 and 17 respectively, asking “Why not we here urgently call for pegging of marriage ages within Muslim Ummah in Nigeria?”

“Nigerian Muslims also practice the Malikiyas School of thought as these countries, “We should follow suit and peg our own marriage ages for our own good”.

“I urge the relevant authorities to create a law that would punish anybody that gave birth to children and allowed them to suffer. Most of those neglected children not only turned victims of social vices but also engage in terrorism.” – Muhammadu Sanusi II

UK and US consider sanctions against Syria

Russia and Syria could face economic sanctions imposed by America and Britain as there is no appetite among Western powers for a military solution to protect civilians from their bombardment in the civil war.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who spoke last week of the need to discuss "more kinetic options", said military solutions such as a no-fly zone or no-bombing zone over Aleppo are "extremely difficult".

Speaking after talks with US secretary of state John Kerry and other allies in London, Mr Johnson said Britain and its allies must work with the diplomatic "tools we have".

He insisted that Russia was "feeling the pressure" from the international community over its military support of the Bashar Assad regime.

Alongside fresh sanctions, Mr Johnson said other measures such as threatening those responsible for committing war crimes with justice at the International Criminal Court "will eventually come to bite".

Mr Johnson's comments indicate his call to consider a potentially more forceful solution to stop the Russian and regime bombing of civilians in Aleppo does not command the support of Western allies.

Speaking after the four-hour meeting at Lancaster House, the Foreign Secretary said: "No option is in principle off the table but be in no doubt that these so-called military options are extremely difficult and there is, to put it mildly, a lack of political appetite in most European capitals and certainly in the West for that kind of solution at present.

"So we've got to work with the tools we have - the tools we have are diplomatic.

"I think the most powerful weapon we have at the moment is our ability to make president Putin and the Russians feel the consequences of what they are doing."
Mr Johnson and Mr Kerry confirmed they were moving towards introducing fresh sanctions against "the Syrian regime and their supporters".

British climber falls to death in Bali

A British tourist has died after he fell into a ravine while climbing a mountain on Indonesia's resort island of Bali.
The body of Daniel David was found on Gunung Abang in Kintamani district on Sunday, said Dewa Made Indra, the head of Bali's civil protection agency, on Monday.
David did not engage a guide when he embarked on the hike on Saturday, he added.

Jose Mourinho: Anfield will be tough for referee Anthony Taylor

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says "it will be difficult" for referee Anthony Taylor at Anfield on Monday after criticism of his appointment.

Taylor is from the Manchester area, and the decision to hand him control of the Liverpool-United Monday Night Football meeting has been called into question by Reds fans and the man previously responsible for allocating officials.

Former referees' chief Keith Hackett this week backed Taylor's "integrity" but said "it would be intolerable" if there was a disputed call in the derby.

Mourinho was given a stadium ban last season for commenting on referees' handling of Chelsea games and was at first reluctant to talk about Taylor at his pre-match press conference, but the United boss eventually made his feelings plain.

He said: "I have my view, but I learned a lesson by being so many times punished by some words, so I don't want to say anything about it.

"I think Mr Taylor is a very good referee, but I think somebody with intention is putting such a pressure on him that I feel it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance."

Mourinho is confident United will not do anything to provoke action from Taylor and has paid tribute to the way they have behaved so far this season.

"Our disciplinary record is really, really good. We don't have problems at all at this level," he added.

"We are a team that plays with discipline, that is following everything that was told to us in the meetings that we had with the representatives of the Premier League and the referees.

"We don't press referees, we behave on the touchline so that's a point that we are very comfortable with."

Wenger: Arsenal will need 'a good bank' to keep Ozil

The Gunners boss insists the Germany international does not need convincing that his future lies in north London but admits the club may have to spend big to keep him

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger conceded the Londoners will have to break the bank to ensure Mesut Ozil signs a new contract.

Ozil's current deal expires in 2018 but the Germany international reportedly wants improved terms to remain at the Emirates Stadium.

The 28-year-old also wants to be part of a winning team, with Arsenal without a Premier League title since 2004.

And as Wenger remained coy over Ozil's future, the Frenchman quipped: "If you have a good bank, call me."

Wenger added: "I don't think he needs convincing. He wants to stay here.

"It's not just money. Arsenal can win titles of course. But that's what we have to show. We are in a league where Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea everybody fights and you cannot guarantee that to anybody.

"We keep that [negotiations] discreet. At due time we will come out with that. We want to keep our best players, of course. But the more I say that, the more he is in a stronger position."

Messi sets another all-time scoring record in La Liga

The Barcelona star has overtaken Athletic legend Telmo Zarra's tally of 179 league goals at home with his strike against Deportivo on Saturday

Lionel Messi is now the all-time top-scoring player in Liga history for goals at home.

The Argentine overtook Athletic legend Telmo Zarra's tally of 179 with a strike against Deportivo as Barcelona ran out 4-0 winners on Saturday.

Running onto Neymar's clever through-ball into the area, Messi powered the ball beyond German Lux in the Deportivo goal to make La Liga history.

Cristiano Ronaldo is fourth on the list with 150 goals, behind Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano's tally of 151.

Messi is already the top scorer and assist provider in Liga history and now adds yet another record to the long list of achievements during his career.

15-year-old daughter of American sprinter Tyson Gay has died after a shooting in Kentucky.

The Lexington Police Department announced Trinity Gay was killed in the incident, which took place in a car park at the Cook Out restaurant.

"A juvenile who was struck at the scene was transported to a hospital by private vehicle and then transferred to UK [University of Kentucky] Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased," a statement read.

"The victim has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner's office as 15-year-old Trinity Gay of Lexington."

USA Track and Field also confirmed the news, tweeting: "Sending our thoughts & prayers to Tyson Gay & his loved ones as they mourn the tragic & senseless loss of his daughter, Trinity."

Trinity Gay had been following in her father's footsteps by building a sprinting career of some promise.

Tyson Gay, 34, is the USA's 100m record holder, while Trinity Gay was a 200m regional champion during the most recent athletics season.

Why are young women attracted to older men?

IT’S a tale as old as time. Sean Penn is the latest Hollywood star to submit to the cliche of the successful older man dating a much younger woman. At 56, he’s gone public with his new partner, 24 year-old Leila George.
At 32 years Penn’s junior, She’s around the same age as Penn’s two children with ex-wife Robin Wright, Dylan and Hopper.
She’s 17 years younger than his most recent love interest Charlize Theron, and 26 years younger than Robin Wright.
Leila is the daughter of actor Vincent D’Onofrio (who is only one year older than Penn), which serves to make the whole story even more titillating. Christmas lunch could be incredibly awkward this year.
So what does a young woman like George and an older man like Penn get out of being in a relationship with someone with such different life experience?
Clinical psychologist Sasha Lynn says there are many reasons young women might find themselves attracted to an older man, but their maturity compared with younger men can be a big factor. “Necrologically, men do tend to take a bit longer than women to reach maturity,” she says.
Dr Lynn says older men are also more confident and secure in themselves, and are more settled in their lives and careers. If those factors are high on a young woman’s list of priorities, older men have a lot to offer.
Add an impressive bank balance, massive Hollywood star power, and a couple of Academy Awards, and a man like Penn can be irresistible.
For older men, being attracted to young women can be about more than just the obvious physical element, according to Dr Lynn. “Again, there can be all sorts of individual factors at play here, but studies have shown older men may be attracted to women who are biologically in their reproductive ‘prime’, thus setting their sights on those younger than them.”
So as the man ages, the women he finds attractive stay around the same fertile age, so he has the best chance of fathering as many babies as possible.
Can a relationship such as Penn’s and George’s work out? “Absolutely!” says Dr Lynn. “It’s important to ensure there are no mitigating factors that might lead to this kind of attraction, such as unresolved parental issues, but that’s true of any relationship. With open communication, personal reflection and work from both partners, a relationship with a large age gap can flourish.”
Whether Penn and George will flourish for years to come remains to be seen. Watch this space.

I Was Arrested By DSS For Granting Bail To Dasuki, Kanu – Justice Ademola

Adeniyi Ademola, a judge of the federal high court Abuja, says he was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) because he granted Sambo Dasuki bail and freed Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) leader.
Last weekend, some judges’ homes were raided by the DSS on allegations of corruption.
But in a letter dated October 11, addressed to Mahmoud Mohammed, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ademola said he was held for over 24 hours before he was told the reason why he was brought to the DSS office.
“…Upon signing the document, they told me that I am under arrest and ordered me with guns still pointed at me to move outside. As I was going, they told me they were taking me to their office, Department of State Services (DSS) office, without showing any warrant of arrest,” the letter read.
“I obeyed them and about six o’clock in the morning, I was whisked away from my residence to the DSS office without any warrant of arrest or reason for my arrest.
“From the time of my arrival at the DSS office, at about 6:45am on 8/10/2016, I was not told what my crime was for over 24 hours till the evening of 9/10/2016.
“A DSS officially finally informed me that the search of my arrest were based on these three allegations; petition of Hon. Jenkins Duvie dated 4th of April 2016 to the National Judicial Council (NJC); granting bail to Col. Sambo Dasuki and the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu; and using my office to secure my wife’s appointment as the head of civil service state through Senator Bola Tinubu.”
Ademola said he saw his arrest as revenge from Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), whose arrest and detention he ordered over a professional misconduct while he was judge in Kano between 2004 and 2008.
“What is more intriguing in this whole episode, is that I see it as a vendetta/revenge from the Hon. attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, whilst I was in Kano between 2004 and 2007 as a federal high court judge was involved in a professional misconduct necessitating his arrest and detention by my order,” he said.
“However, with the intervention of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kano branch the allegation of misconduct was later withdrawn by me.”

Read The Full Text Of Aisha Buhari’s Interview With BBC

This is the full text from the interview of First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, by BBC Hausa Service:
BBC Hausa: It has been One and a half years since President Muhammadu Buhari came into power, a lot of people are expressing their unhappiness over the way few acquaintance of the President have hijacked power while neglecting people that work for his success. Like we have promised, here is how the interview with Aisha Buhari and Naziru Maka’ilu from Abuja goes.
BBC Hausa: People have goodwill towards President Muhammadu Buhari, especially looking at the things he did before, but since coming into power things have not been working the way they should, what do you thing is the cause?
Aisha Buhari: I am not a government official, but in my opinion as a woman, a mother, what I think is it is well known that the first 4 years are not going to be easy. Firstly, it was people that brought the government into power. More than half of those people are not appointed into the government. Some people that are not politicians, not professionals were brought into the government. They don’t even know what we said we want and what we don’t during the campaign. They even come out and say to people we are not politicians, but they are occupying the offices meant for politicians. Some have parted with their wives, some lost their children lost, some women too have parted with their husbands because of politics, a lot happened during the time. The way things are going I too I am not happy. We are just starting, we have not finished. Some people that worked for the government have been appointed. But those heading government agencies you can find one fighting his state governor, they contested together during election one in APC while in PDP.
BBC Hausa: Who are those doing these kinds of things?

Aisha Buhari: Everybody knows them. Those people should know that people voted singly. Even Buhari too had one vote. Nobody voted 5 times. 15.429 Million People. That one that people are thinking too, he had only some 2 or 3 people. I am pleading to them to have the people at heart and embrace everybody so that we can all move together. Not even now in 2016 or 17, lot of people are creating divisions within the APC, which is our source of concern. They think they have worked for the government while those appointed some of them had no voter’s card. What I fear is uprising of 15.4 million people.
BBC Hausa: Is the President aware some people are subverting his government?
Aisha Buhari: Whether he knows or he do not, those that voted for him knows.
BBC Hausa: But you are the most closest to him, did you tell him?
Aisha Buhari: There is nothing I can tell him, he is seeing things himself. Out of the people he has appointed, take 50, 45 of them I don’t know them. Perhaps he doesn’t know them too. I have been living with him for 27 years.
BBC Hausa: Do you think there are some people that are dictating to the President things to do, not him?
Aisha Buhari: That is what I am saying, those that know they don’t have voters card, they should give chance to those that have, they are the ones that struggled and knows what we want to do. Some of them if you go to a meeting with them they will tell you, we are not politicians, if somebody is wise, they will not accept to take any political office. They didn’t even work for it. Even if you are asked to, you should say it is not my profession. Those places not headed by politicians will cause people discontent.
BBC Hausa: One would wonder to hear you say some people have hijacked the government without him knowing, but who do you think are those people?
Aisha Buhari: I don’t know them, I don’t know them. I don’t know them
BBC Hausa: But some people are calling names, saying 2 or 3 are the ones, do you that as well?
Aisha Buhari: Yes I agree. Because of those appointed apart from Fashola, Ameachi and some others, not much, I don’t know them, most of us too don’t know them, and he too does not know them
BBC Hausa: One would wonder that Buhari is not the one charge knowing him as a person who had leadership experiences, people would not believe
Aisha Buhari: Yes it is surprising; nobody thought it is going to be like this. But now that it is so…sometimes when one is doing something wrong without him knowing, but when people talk to them, they should listen. Because in the future, whether he is going to contest or not, it is that same people that would vote for APC. We hope those people don’t come back, and everybody don’t hope so too
BBC Hausa: You said “Whether he is going to contest in the future or not”, has he disclose it to you whether he is standing or not?

A gas explosion inside a coal mine in southwestern China has killed seven people and injured two more.
Rescue crews at the Rongsheng mine in Guizhou province were able to save 11 people, including the two injured. Authorities would not say what caused the explosion, and a phone number listed for the mine wasn’t working.
China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of coal, though it announced plans this year to shutter more than 1,000 outdated mines. The head of China’s State Administration of Work Safety said this year that struggling coal mines might be likely to overlook maintenance.
The administration reported 931 coal mine accident deaths in 2014, though outside experts often question government figures.

Conjoined twins separated after 27 hours of surgery in US operation

A pair of conjoined twins who were joined at the head have been successfully separated after 27 hours of surgery in New York, US media reports say.
The 13-month-old boys, named Anias and Jadon, shared a 5-by-7-centimetre section of brain tissue, their mother Nicole McDonald wrote on Facebook.
The operation to separate their skulls took 16 hours alone, CNN reported. Further operations were then required to reconstruct their heads.
"Two separate babies!," McDonald wrote after the operation. "We are standing on the brink of the unknown. The next few months will be critical in terms of recovery and we will not know for sure how Anias and Jadon are recovering for many weeks."
As 80 per cent of conjoined twins who do not undergo separation surgery within the first two years of their lives die, the parents of twins faced an immensely difficult decision.
Conjoined births are extremely rare and are estimated to occur between one in 49,000 births and one in 189,000 births.

Hillary Clinton Foundation 'in US ethics breach'

Hacked emails published by Wikileaks appear to show Qatar pledging to donate $US1 million ($A1.3 million) to Hillary Clinton's family's charitable foundation, despite her promise to curb new donations by foreign governments while US secretary of state.
In an email from 2012, a senior official from the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation informs colleagues that a planned donation by Qatar's government to mark Bill Clinton's birthday came up in a meeting he had with the Gulf state's ambassador.
The ambassador said that he asked "to see WJC 'for five minutes' in NYC, to present $1 million check that Qatar promised for WJC's birthday in 2011," Amitabh Desai, the foundation official, writes in his email, using the former US president's initials.
Hillary Clinton, who is the Democratic nominee for the November 8 presidential election, served as secretary of state from 2009 until 2013.
The hacked email is among thousands published over the last week by the pro-transparency group Wikileaks from the account of John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.
Clinton's campaign has been embarrassed by this and similar recent hacking attacks on other Democratic Party officials, some of which appear to show Clinton and her aides saying things in private that contradict their public positions. Her spokespeople have not disputed the authenticity of the hacked emails.
The emails released by Wikileaks do not appear to confirm whether Qatar gave the promised $US1 million, although the foundation's website lists the State of Qatar as having given at least that amount. There is no date listed for the donation. A spokesman for the foundation declined to confirm the donation.
Reuters could not rule out the possibility the $US1 million was intended as a birthday present for Clinton personally, not for the foundation. His spokesman did not respond to questions.
Hillary Clinton promised the US government that while she served as secretary of state the foundation would not accept new funding from foreign governments without seeking clearance from the State Department's ethics office.
The agreement was designed to dispel concerns that US foreign policy could be swayed by donations to the foundation. Clinton's Republican rival in the presidential election, Donald Trump, has seized on the foundation, calling it a front for corruption. Clinton's campaign dismisses this as a political smear.
The State Department has said it cannot cite any instances of its ethics officials reviewing or approving new donations from foreign governments to the foundation while Clinton served as the country's top diplomat from 2009 until 2013.

Donald Trump dismantles teleprompters at US rally

Days after saying his shackles were off, Donald Trump has dramatically disassembled his teleprompters after a technical malfunction.
The Republican nominee was speaking to a rally crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina, when he mentioned the devices that he'd shunned during the primaries hadn't been running for the prior 20 minutes.
When Trump tried to move one of the devices out of the way, the screen fell off the stand.
"Hey get this thing out of here, will you?'' he said. "I like it much better without the teleprompters.''
He later approached the other device and played around with the glass for a second before placing it on the floor.
Trump says he won't pay for the broken devices - and will get a discount on the sound after a speaker malfunctioned.
"Whoever runs this place is not doing very well,'' he joked.

Emir’s Of Katsina’s Marriage To 14-Yr-Old Christian Girl Irreversible – Katsina Emirate Council

THE Katsina Emirate Council on Thursday declared that the marriage between 14-year-old girl, Habiba Isa, and the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumin Usman, was irreversible.
The council said the marriage and Isa’s conversion to Islam were voluntarily and willingly entered into by the girl.
The council told officials of the Katsina State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, who visited Usman in his palace over the issue, that there was no evidence that the 14-year-old girl was forced to act against her wish.
The family of Isiyaku Tanko of Warkaza community in the  Kudun Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State on Wednesday alleged that Usman forcefully abducted their 14-year-old daughter and forced her into marrying him.
She was said to have been abducted on August 16, 2016, by one Jamilu Lawal, an aide of the emir, who worked in the palace. She was converted to Islam and held incommunicado.
Isa is expected to clock 15 years on Saturday, October 15, 2016, and would have resumed school for the new academic term, but for her abduction.
She was said to have passed her Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination and was expected to start Senior Secondary School.
The incident was blown open when the father of the victim lodged a complaint with Stefanos Foundation, a humanitarian civil rights organisation, which took over the matter.
Isa was allowed to appear before CAN officials and others in the palace on Thursday, and was asked three questions by the Kaora Katsina, Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, on behalf of the emirate council.
She was asked whether she was forcefully converted to Islam, to which she replied no.
She was also asked whether the emirate council or any other person forced her into the marriage with the emir, to which she also answered no.
The third question was whether by the time she met her husband, she was already experiencing menstrual period, to which she answered yes.
The Kaora Katsina said, “The three questions are in line with the dictates of the Islamic religion. Since Isa has voluntarily answered the three questions in our presence, there is no going back on her marriage.”
Abdulkadir explained that in as much as the emirate council would not want to be involved in the controversy surrounding the marriage, the palace of the emir was open to all Nigerians irrespective of religion and tribe.
A letter purportedly written by Isa’s father was read to the gathering, apologising to the emirate council for any embarrassment the issue might have caused it (the council).
The CAN Chairman for Katsina State, Very Rev. Nelson Ugochukwu, however, told the emirate council that Isa’s marriage did not have the consent of her parents, who he said, were crying for justice in Abuja.
The CAN leader said the association was not in support of the marriage and her conversion to Islam.
He said, “This girl (Isa) standing before us is 14 years. She is supposed to be in school and not given out in marriage.
“We are not pleased and we demand justice. Her parents are in Abuja, crying for justice. In my religion, you cannot give out any lady in marriage without the consent of her parents. This marriage does not have the consent of this little girl’s parent. The parents are not happy with what has happened.
“As the CAN chairman in Katsina, I am the father of all Christians in the state. Our people are not happy. The parents told me that the girl is 14 years. She is supposed to be in school. I want justice to be done in this matter. I want the emirate to look into the matter. To us, the girl is still a Christian.”

Kendall Jenner Testifies Against Alleged Stalker

Kendall Jenner testified in court on Thursday, October 13, at the trial of her accused stalker,Shavaughn McKenzie. According to the Associated Press, the model, 20, described to the jury how she felt when she saw McKenzie outside of her Hollywood Hills home. "I’ve never been so scared in my life,” Jenner told the jury. According to the AP, the Estee Lauder spokeswoman kept her composure during the two hour-long testimony, during which McKenzie and his lawyer were present, and used her hands to illustrate how she made frantic phone calls to friends while waiting for authorities to arrive.

As previously reported, McKenzie, 25, was arrested outside of her home in August and charged with misdemeanor stalking and trespassing. Jenner said on Thursday that she first noticed the man parked outside of her home and that he somehow followed her into her gated driveway and banged on the window of her car after she pulled up to her house.

According to the AP, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star also told the court that she recognized McKenzie as the same man who previously confronted her twice at her Westwood condo.

If convicted, McKenzie could face up to six months in jail. His lawyer argued in court that he suffers from a severe mental disorder and that he was unarmed at the time of the incident.

"I was terrified," Jenner told the jury. "I was literally traumatized. … It's definitely put me even more on edge. I definitely don't feel safe in my own house anymore."

Her testimony comes a little more than a week after older sister Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on October 3.

60-Year-Old Man Allegedly Stoned To Death By Church Members in Ebonyi State

A sixty-year-old man, Philip Ugwu has been confirmed dead after he was stoned by worshipers of a church in Afikpo LGA in Ebonyi state.
Abani Ugwu, the wife of the deceased reported the matter to the police and Tochukwu Okoh, an evangelist, had been arrested in connection with the incident.
The victim, who is popularly called Boxer or Coach, had argued with the church worshipers in a new generation church over the attention of a fence to demarcate their lands.
One thing led to another and it wasn’t long before Mr. Okoh and three others attacked her husband with stones, Abani said.
“We heard Boxer’s wife screaming that her husband had been attacked by some worshipers and before we could get to the scene, he was lying unconscious,” a witness said.
“He was immediately rushed to the hospital but his wife identified one of the attackers still with a stone who was immediately apprehended and handed over to the police.
“The victim’s wife explained that he had purchased and built on the parcel of land even before the church came to lay claim over it,” a witness who preferred anonymity said.
The witness said that the matter had previously been reported to the traditional council during which the head pastor of the church, still at large, was invited.
