Khloe Kardashian Breaks Silence: Kim's not doing well

Khloe Kardashian says her older sister, Kim Kardashian West, is "not doing that well" more than a week after she was held up during a Paris jewellery heist.
During an appearance on Tuesday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, Khloe Kardashian described the incident as being "incredibly traumatic" for her sister.
The Kardashian clan has been unusually quiet on social media in the days since the robbery, and Khloe says the incident is "a wake-up call to make a lot of life adjustments".
She says the family is going "to pull back a little bit" and make sure it's "protected as well as possible".
Police say armed robbers forced their way into a private residence where Kardashian was staying in Paris last week, tied her up and stole $US10 million ($A13 million) worth of jewellery.
No arrests have been made.

Kim Kardashian sues celebrity gossip over staged robbery report

Reality television star Kim Kardashian is suing the celebrity gossip website MediaTakeout for claiming she lied about an armed robbery earlier this month in Paris.
Kardashian, whose show Keeping Up With the Kardashians is on hold following the robbery, filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York accusing the site of reporting that she staged the attack "without any factual support whatsoever".
The 35-year-old was robbed of some $US10 million ($A13 million) in jewellery after masked men put a gun to her head and tied her up in a Paris apartment early on October 3.
The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages for defamation, names both the site and its founder, Fred Mwangaguhunga, as defendants.
Mwangaguhunga refused to publish a retraction and an apology "for calling her a liar and a criminal," the lawsuit said.
The site did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Kardashian, who has kept an uncharacteristically low profile since the robbery, is married to the rapper Kanye West, with whom she has two children.
Her family was not with her at the time of the incident.

Donald Trump lashes out at 'disloyal' Republicans

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has lashed out at US House Speaker Paul Ryan and other "disloyal" Republicans, vowing to campaign in whatever style he wants now that the party establishment has largely abandoned him.
In a barrage of Twitter posts, Trump on Tuesday condemned the Republicans who have backed away from his White House run, deepening a dramatic rift in the party over his struggling campaign for the November 8 election.
"It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to," Trump said on Twitter, adding he would engage Democratic rival Hillary Clinton on his own terms.
Describing "disloyal" Republicans as more difficult than Clinton, he said: "They come at you from all sides. They don't know how to win - I will teach them!"
A string of Republican officials and officeholders have distanced themselves from Trump since a 2005 video surfaced on Friday showing him bragging crudely to a reporter about groping women and making unwanted sexual advances.
Despite the turn away from Trump by some elected Republicans, a Reuters/Ipsos poll of likely voters, released on Tuesday, found 58 per cent of Republicans wanted Trump to stay atop their party's ticket and 68 per cent said the Republican leadership should stand by him.
The poll, which was conducted after the second presidential debate on Sunday, showed Clinton's lead over Trump widening to 8 points from 5 points last week, before the release of the video.
Ryan, the top Republican in Congress, told party lawmakers on Monday he was breaking with Trump and would not campaign for him, all but conceding a Clinton win. The move angered some Trump supporters, although Ryan said he would not withdraw his endorsement of the New York businessman.
Trump slammed Ryan as a "very weak and ineffective leader" and complained in another tweet that it was hard to do well with "zero support" from Ryan and others, later telling Fox News he neither wants nor needs Ryan's support.
Ryan's spokesman, Brendan Buck, said on Tuesday that the speaker "is focusing the next month on defeating Democrats, and all Republicans running for office should probably do the same."
Trump also took aim at US Senator John McCain of Arizona, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, who said on Saturday that he could not vote for Trump.
"The very foul mouthed Senator John McCain begged for my support during his primary (I gave, he won), then dropped me over locker room remarks," Trump said. There was no immediate reaction from McCain, who secured his primary election win in August.
Nearly half of all 331 incumbent Republican senators, House members and governors have condemned Trump's lewd remarks on the video, and roughly one in 10 has called for him to drop out of the race, Reuters says.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said on Monday Trump still have the backing of the RNC and his running mate Mike Pence also reinforced in support.

Hillary Clinton adviser links Donald Trump to WikiLeaks

A top Hillary Clinton adviser is accusing a longtime Donald Trump aide of receiving "advance warning'' about WikiLeaks' plans to publish thousands of hacked emails, suggesting the Republican candidate is aiding the unprecedented Russian interference in American politics.
Clinton adviser John Podesta pointed the finger at Trump adviser Roger Stone on Tuesday, saying he's been in touch with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Podesta also raised as evidence an August tweet in which Stone said Podesta's "time in the barrel'' was coming. The tweet was sent shortly after WikiLeaks published scores of hacked emails from other Democratic officials.
"I think it's a reasonable assumption, or at least a reasonable conclusion, that Mr Stone and the Trump campaign had advance warning about what Assange was going to do,'' Podesta said from the Clinton campaign plane.
Podesta acknowledged the evidence was circumstantial, but confirmed the FBI is investigating the hack of his private email account as part of the ongoing probe in other Democratic Party hackings by groups with Russian ties.
Last week, intelligence officials said they believe the individuals responsible are working for Russian intelligence and coordinating with Assange on the political hacking.
Podesta said Russia's actions may be driven by Trump's policy positions, which he said are more in line with Russian foreign policy than US foreign policy. But he also suggested the driving force could be Trump's ties with Russian interests through his business affairs.
Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak has dismissed the accusations as untrue.
"We are watching very carefully the election campaign in this country," Kislyak said on Tuesday at a discussion of bilateral affairs at Johns Hopkins University's campus in Washington.
"We don't interfere (in) the internal affairs of the United States, neither by my statements nor by electronic or other means.''

House Of Reps Clears 3 Lawmakers Accused Of Sexual Misconduct in US

Three members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Mohammed Gololo (AP-Bauchi); Mark Gbillah (APC-Benue) and Samuel Ikom (PDP-Akwa Ibom), accused of sexual misconduct while on a trip to the United States’ authorities, have been exonerated.
The Ethics and Privileges Committee passed the verdict on Tuesday in a report submitted to the House.
The lawmakers were accused by the former US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr James Entwistle of sexually assaulting ahouse keeper and soliciting for sex while attending the International Visitors LeadershipProgramme in Cleveland, Ohio.
However, Chairman, House Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Rep. Nicholas Ossai (PDP-Delta) while presenting the report said that the lawmakers were cleared for want of evidence.
“Rep. Mohammed Gololo, Rep. Mark Gbillah and Rep. Samuel Ikom are cleared of and exonerated from the allegations leveled against them by the US Ambassador to Nigeria in his June 9, 2016 letter to Speaker for want of evidence.

“In the light of the foregoing, the Minister of Foreign Affairs should engage the US Ambassador to Nigeria with a view to finding a seamless resolution of the domestic fall out of this unfortunate incident as it relates to the lawmakers,’’ Ossai said.
He further urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to write to remind the US Embassy of the need to always adopt the official channel of communications in its dealing with any organ or institution of government.
The incident allegedly occurred in a hotel during the International Visitor Leadership Programme in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. held between April 7 and April 13. It was attended by 10 members of the lower chamber.
When the House ordered a probe in July, the US ambassador was expected to provide videoevidence.
But it was not clear whether he eventually did so.
Chairman of House Committee on Ethics, Nicholas Ossai (PDP-Delta), told the NewsAgency of Nigeria (NAN) then in Abuja that the committee did not invite management of the hotel where the alleged misconduct occurred.

US plane evacuated after samsung smartphone smokes

An overheating, smoking Samsung smartphone has forced the evacuation of a Southwest Airlines jet that was preparing to take off from Louisville airport.
The incident raised fresh trouble for Samsung, which saw its new Galaxy Note 7 device recalled last month because of overheating batteries.
Samsung, Southwest and federal aviation-safety officials declined to say what model of Samsung phone was involved, saying they were still investigating.
But an Indiana woman, Sarah Green, told The Courier-Journal of Louisville that it was her husband's Galaxy Note 7 that made popping noises and started to smoke after he powered it down while the plane sat at the gate.
Green told the newspaper that her husband, Brian, received the Galaxy Note 7 about two weeks ago as a replacement for his recalled phone. He called her from someone else's phone to tell her what happened.
Last month Samsung agreed to recall the Galaxy Note 7 after receiving 92 reports of batteries overheating in the US, including 26 reports of burns and 55 cases of property damage.
The Federal Aviation Administration took the unusual step of warning passengers not to use or charge the devices while on board and not to stow them in checked luggage.
Flight attendants on many airlines added a warning about the Samsung device to their pre-flight safety demonstrations.
However, the FAA's advisory to airlines did not apply to replacement Galaxy Note 7s. Those phones have a green battery icon.
Samsung Electronics said in a statement that it could not confirm that the latest incident involved a new Note 7. Samsung said it is working with authorities to recover the device and confirm the cause of overheating.
Wednesday's mishap occurred while the Southwest plane with 75 passengers and crew members prepared to fly from Louisville to Baltimore. Fire Capt. Sal Melendez said the device overheated during the crew's safety demonstration.
Southwest Airlines spokesman Brad Hawkins said a passenger reported smoke coming from a Samsung device and that everyone got off the plane through the main cabin door.
No one was injured in the evacuation, but the plane's carpet suffered minor damage where the phone was dropped, fire officials said.

Ekiti At 20: Governor Fayose Commends Late Gen. Sani Abacha For His ‘Vision’

The governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has commended the late military Head of state, Gen Sani Abacha, for his vision leading to the creation of the state, exactly 20 years ago.
Fayose made this call while addressing stakeholders at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium, Ado Ekiti, after the independence walk, which kicked off from Mathew Street in Ado Ekiti.
He also commended past military and civilian administrations for their contribution to building the state to “enviable height”.
He said, “Let me commend Gen. Abacha for creating the state and I also thank our founding fathers for their vision. Though, I didn’t participate in the struggle, but I am a beneficiary and many children and governors yet unborn will also benefit .
“Politics aside, let me commend all the military and duly elected governors of the past for their contributions, because they have contributed their own quota within the available resources to lay a foundation, for without foundation there could be nothing to build upon.
“Ekiti has scored many firsts within the two years I came on board. Ekiti recorded in transparency in budget provision. It came first in 2016 NECO and these came at the most auspicious time when Ekiti is 20. Our desire now is to buckle up and work harder for more service delivery for the good of you and I.”
The governor decried the economic recession in the country, saying it “is not pleasurable, it is not interesting at all. It is a sad news to hear that a dollar is now being exchanged for N500.”
Ekiti State was created on October 1, 1996 alongside Bayelsa, Gombe, Nasarawa, Ebonyi and Zamfara States.
